APEX-MODFLOW: A New integrated model to simulate hydrological processes in watershed systems

چکیده
APEX ( A gricultural P olicy/ E nvironmental e X tender) is an oft-used agroecosystem model but has limited use in groundwater-driven watersheds due to a simplistic representation of groundwater processes. This paper presents the linkage and flow MODFLOW into single modeling code. The mapping recharge, head, groundwater-surface water interactions are handled internally via subroutines. APEX-MODFLOW applied three United States for testing code accuracy hydrologic state variables fluxes: Animas River Watershed, Colorado New Mexico (3543 km 2 ); Price Utah (4886 Middle Bosque Texas (470 ). Whereas hydrology driven by snowmelt spring runoff, Watershed summer thunderstorms. can be used scenario analysis watersheds. • integrated links model. Model passes table elevation, gw-sw flux rates internally. Utah, Colorado, Texas, USA. results show importance including physically based flow.

Evaluating Three Hydrological Distributed Watershed Models: MIKE-SHE, APEX, SWAT
Selecting the right model to simulate a specific watershed has always been a challenge, and field testing of watersheds could help researchers to use the proper model for their purposes. The performance of three popular Geographic Information System (GIS)-based watershed simulation models (European Hydrological System Model (MIKE SHE), Agricultural Policy/Environmental Extender (APEX) and Soil ...

one of the water resources modeling requirements is sufficient knowledge of long-term series of meteorological and hydrological parameters. in this study the nearest neighbor resampling method presented by lall and sharma was developed. in the developed model, the knn regression was used for time series forecasting instead of local polynomial used in the developed algorithm by prairie. in this ...
متن کاملA new package in MODFLOW to simulate unconfined groundwater flow in sloping aquifers.
The nonhorizontal-model-layer (NHML) grid system is more accurate than the horizontal-model-layer grid system to describe groundwater flow in an unconfined sloping aquifer on the basis of MODFLOW-2000. However, the finite-difference scheme of NHML was based on the Dupuit-Forchheimer assumption that the streamlines were horizontal, which was acceptable for slope less than 0.10. In this study, we...
متن کاملEstimating the Available Water in the Watershed using System Dynamics Hydrological Model (Case Study: Ilam Watershed)
Hydrological models provide water managers with the available amount of water in the watershed. In this paper, we firstly developed a system dynamics model to calculate the available amount of water in the watershed. Then, we defined two scenarios one of which is the development scenario describing how land use changes can affect water availability in the watershed. Next, we divided the watersh...
متن کاملSimulation of Water Balance Components Using a Distributed Hydrological Model in Taleghan Watershed
Water changes information in the hydrological system, in time and space, as an environmental issue takes heed of managers and decision makers in watershed management and river engineering, which can be addressed by using spatially distributed modeling. In this study simulation of water balance components in Taleghan mountainous watershed is performed using the spatially distributed hydrological...
